The essential ingredient in any brand communications

Authenticity is really at the heart of what it means to communicate in a conscious way - so as you can imagine, it's fairly close to my heart :) And that's why I thought it would be the perfect topic to chat about in my first video blog! WOO HOO!

 

Authenticity is an essential ingredient in any conscious communications soufflé – it’s basically your binding agent that holds all your other ingredients together and makes sure the magic happens.

 

Authenticity in communication is all about being open, honest and real in what you say and do in any interaction with your audience. It’s about knowing your values, as a brand or an individual, and making sure that your words and actions align with those.

 

In the crazy, wonderful place called social-media-land authenticity can feel challenging.

 

We’re super susceptible to playing the dangerous game of compare and contrast on social media – so many beautiful, carefully selected, curated, filtered, posed and edit photos; it can be like letting your ego play chicken with a semi.

 

It’s time to jump out of the road, let your ego take the bench and come back to what feels right and real for you and your brand. Make sure whatever you’re putting out there aligns with your values, and listen in when your body suggests that it doesn’t (believe me, your body KNOWS these things!)
